I have a Jack Dempsey that I have had for at least 3 years, my friend I got it from had it for two, and he was about 2 when he got him, so he's at least 7 years old. He's a gorgeous fish with lots of color. He's very healthy and eats normally. However, the past couple days I noticed a bump between his eyes. It has doubled in size but now seems as if it has stopped growing. It doesn't look like it makes him uncomfortable because he still swims eats and reacts with the other fish the same way. It's not an open wound or a hole. It looks kinda like the lump on a mature frontosa. Do Jack Dempsey's get these bumps when they mature, too? I haven't heard of it, but i've never had a seven year old one either. If you wouldn't mind, email me at supyall_08_29@hotmail.com if you know anything about this because I'm rarely on here and my email is directed straight to my phone. I wanna know if there is anything I need to do because I don't wanna loose ole' grandpa. I tried to get a picture but her moves around too quickly. I can try again later tonight for one though. THANKS!
