Hawaii
Has anyone else kept them? They're really rare here in Hawaii and I'm curious if anyone has had them before and has any tips. They're true freshwater!

I have one that I got recently from Wes.It has been eating floating pellets since the second day I have had it.I would like to have a small group and would have ordered more but I read that they can be quarrelsome with each other.

Sounds awesome! I've heard the same thing, that you really have to school them to be successful. I also have a singleton, and he's kind of shy. Still hasn't really realized that I'm his source of food. Do you feed yours any live food?

No,no live foods, strictly pellets so far.I may try giving it some crickets one day.

I have two and they do tend to chase each other around a lot they take to pellets very easily ime as well I'm not of others experience but mine seem to like fast current the 70g cube I have them in has a 15x turnover these are definitely one of my favorite mini monsters

I give mine maybe like 10 crickets a week, he loves them and seems to do well! How big is yours? Mine is about 3 inches and can't quite fit a regular sized cricket in his mouth, so i give him smaller ones.

Yea, I assume they like current since they're river fish.. Sadly I'm about to move mine into a driftwood tank I just planted, so not much flow. Not a good idea?

Mine is in a grow out tank with not much current other than return water. It seems to be fine though.

Here is my archer moving in on some pellets.
