burrowing bicher

I've seen bichirs at the LFS burrow their entire bodies in the gravel, only to have their head and tail exposed.

My endi covered its face a long time ago, haven't seen the behaviour since.

My endlicheri does that very often. He loves digging himself into fine gravel or sand. It is part of his hunting camoflage. Another hunting position would be hanging in the open water, near a root, whith its tail at the root, resembling a root itsself.

I have never watched a digging in the sand with my senegalus.

That would be awesome if all bichirs burrowed... imagine one of THOSE blasting out to nail feeders... it'd be like a cross between watching a snake and a puffer striking out of nowhere!

its totally normal dun worry.
