Bushy nose burrowing?

I have a common bushy nose pleco, and it keeps making caves into the sand under rocks, any meaning to this or just normal? I hope he doesn't squish himself...

In other news, I'm highly considering picking up a medusa pleco for about 15$ at the lfs I work at, should I?

A few peppered Cory's, some gouramis and 2 Bolivian ram, never seen any sign of agression towards the pleco.

Iv never seen that with mine but I keep them with gravel. My hoplo cats bury under when I clean so it cant be to hard.
