So last night with the help of a buddy, I had to move my 240 gallon tank to the garage until the tile is installed in my house. Now the back glass is cracked and looks like I will be jumping on a project sooner than I expected. I have came up with plans for a 793 gallon tank. But finding the materials is proving to be difficult. Wanna do plywood with 1.25 thickness and 10 foot sheets and not sure what type of glass to go with. Happy my fish are juvenile because they will be stuck in the tiny 20 gallon for a little longer. Anyone have any recommendation or advice. All is appreciated.

Well I probably will and then sell if it turns out. But it won't be large enough for what I am aiming for. Looking at building a 10 footer with more than the 24" of height. We are kinda doing some remodeling and looking to make this build be the final piece.

Managed to get the busted back piece off if my 240 gallon. It's not easy tearing glass apart!! Waiting on lowes to call me with my 1-1/8" ply for my tank build meanwhile my juvenile fish are stuck in a 20 gallon that I was gonna only use for breeding feeders.
Changed my plans. Making the tank 10ft long. The actual tank will be 9' with built in space on both sides that will hide all plumbing and room for shelves. Glass is ridiculous and all over the place. Quotes go from 1200- 1800 for 8'x3'x3/4" starfire.
Can't wait to start this. Hopefully they will have the lumber tomorrow!!

You can't keep them in that tank for long - have you thought about how long it may take you to build this plywood tank?

Have you also though that the 24" glass you have could be sat in the middle with a few inch below and a few inch above, if it has 3" below and above you have a 30" deep tank, with a 24" viewing window.

I know it's not ideal, but it's cost effective of what you have
