I was doing research a while ago on fw rays, was considering a 1.2 group of retics for my 150 but went with African peacocks instead. Now I like the idea of a stock tub (black plastic rectangular tub) for them. I know that they will live in higher pHs as long as they are stable, but will they breed in that high of a pH? Or if I am wanting them to breed should I go with RO? I have always heard that there is no way to trigger breeding, they either do it or they don't, is that still true? So there is no evidence that photoperiod, pH changes, temperature changes, diet, nothing triggers them?

they will do it or they won't is true, motoros have bred in high ph ranges before, but i'm not sure about retics, if they live and are big enough i don't see why not! its up to them if they want to DO IT!! get my drift

parameters shouldn't be an issue. More of a conditioning thing... keep the water clean and your rays fed.
