I went to the Butcher today and asked him if he had any scraps from meat that he was throwing away. He said hold on let me go check and came out with 3 garbage bags full of meat and fat that I cut into small cubes and froze so now i have about 5 months worth of free piranha food This will work right.

I am not sure about Piranha but I know other fish shouldnt get red meat because they can not digest the fats properly but P's might be different.

the fat isn't really good for your fish... i think its the reason why we use beef heart and not regular ground beef..

dont feed it to them all the time thou.. mix it up and give them fish and shrimp too..

Either way it wont get wasted. I'm a butcher and believe me, nothing gets wasted. scraps of meat become ground beef. Suet, bones, blood, bad meat, guts, heads, hooves, and scraps of skin go to rendering plants to be made into makeup and dog food, and pelts to go tanneries.

you can seriously do that?
i thought it was illegal due to contamination concerns.
