can I keep a 10" butt with a 18" silver arowana in the same tank? input are appreciated.

If you have a 10" butt, you should eat more.

But seriously, I would wait until the aro was a good bit bigger, because butti's can be really aggressive. The general rule for cichlids with aros is the aro 2x the size of the cichlid, but with butti's i would shoot for 2.5x.

How big of a tank will the be in?

Well, as you were asked before when you posted this question in the aro forum, what size is your tank? Dimensons? This mix is risky at best would probably only work in a very large tank.

I moved my butt to a 20 g tank for himself. I dont like him to uproot my plant and burrow my gravel. So now my silver aro is safe with a bala shark, a bunch of convicts, three 3" flowerhorns and a jewel.
