i just orderd a pleco my lfs calls it a butterfly pleco ive seen them before at the lfs they look like leapord sailfin plecos but they are yellow with the black markings does anyone know wat it could be and if its territorial or not its going to be three inches and going in my tank with cory cats, tetras, pictus cat and my blue phantom pleco wich is just barely bigger than three inches ill try to get pics when it comes in

Butterfly pleco have black bar pattern, and yellowish tan color flatter body.

Imo one of the meanest. Beat up my vampire and gold nugget not to mention it attacked my 7 inch flowerhorn. You could get a docile one but I wouldn't chance it again in my tank. They do look awesome though.

if plenty of hideing places would one be okay with my blue phantom the blue phantom tho is also really mean he constantly chases my pictus and two cory cats all around the tank and sometimes he puffs out his little spines so if possible hideing spots/alot of food would work last leapard plec i had a while back wasnt aggresive at all. also phantom was orrigonaly with the big boys in the large tank a while back stock was (tats, barracuda, jurupari, silverdollars and a very aggresive juruense)only other fish in tank hes in now are just tetras and hatchetfish

It's worth a try. Plecos are usually easy to re-home to another tank. I had a large tank (210 gallon) with lots of hiding places but once the hi fin hit about five or six inches he was attacking the vampire in the rocks and chasing all other fish away from food. So I guess what I'm saying is it will probably work for some time just how long is up to the two plecos. They're cheap fish so try it out and if you have to move one to another tank or trade it back to the lfs it shouldn't be to big of a hassle. If you do get him keep an update thread about it. I'd love to see how it all turns out. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry to much about your sail and blue. It will happen A torn fin here and there no biggy, unless the phantom is chasing the sail fin around the tank none stop, then it a problem.
