Butterfly fish tankmates

Hi, I got 3 fish as a present. I'd like to ask which fish I can give them with. I have 2 options and that is to malawi mbuna cichlids, but i am worried about them biting their fins. And the other option is to a community tank with tetras, but here I am afraid they will eat the small tetras. Which option is better? Or would it be better to try to return/sell the fish.

What kind of tetras? Something small like neons would be at risk, but larger bodied tetras would be fine.
Definitely not a good mix with mbuna, but much is.

Emperor tetras, red neon tetras, blue king tetras and congo tetras.

Those neons/kings/emperors may be at risk, but the Congos will do great with them.
That said, butterflies mainly stay near the surface.

Another issue may be feeding the ABF because tetras are faster. Observe and make sure the AFB's are getting food.
