would an african butterfly fish get along with an elephants nose? I am assuming so because they live in different areas of the tank and have different diets. Am I right or wrong?

they make great tankmates, mabey add a ropefish or two and a school of congo tetra, how big is the tank?

they will be fine, one is topwater and one is bottom

i have a Elephant nose and a butterfly in my grow out tank together and both get along great.

yea they would be fine both wonderful fish imo i love bgks though!!

they do go together, pet store have um together all the time here. the elephant nose get pretty big

In a tank that size I would add some floating plants and get like three butterflies...

i've seen them get territorial with species that share the same region of water. But they can get aggressive around feeding time.
Saying that i've always been a fan of these fish i like the oddballs, my local fish shop has just got some in for 5.99 i'm very tempted.
