i doubt it would work they get big and i would try it in a bigger tank , if you trying to get a pair they are hard to sex, so i would get six smalls ones and let them pair off but i do not think it would work in a 90 gal

With one butti would I beable to put any other fish with it? Like plecos, catfish or other Chiclids like a Red Devil.

maybe, depends on the individual fishes temperament but they are notorious tankmate killers. another large aggro fish will just make the tank into a constant battle zone till one of them dies.
do a search on the cichlid section and you will get lots of posts about the butti.

These fish are mean, I highly doubt it.

yeah buttis are like in the top 5 most aggro cichlids period one with maybe some silver dollars and a heavily armored pleco might work in a 90

I have 5 buttis in a 300 gallon pond and they're all doing pretty well. I don't see the same aggression that everyone else seems to be experiencing, but i think it's because it's almost a completely different environment plus their individual personalities maybe. there's also mbuna in that pond but they leave them alone for the most part.

a 300 gallon pond is a lot different then a 90 gal tank
