Butti Question

I have a spare 120 gallon tank that i want to stock with a butti
As far as water chem. what do they like?
temp wise what is good?
also what do they like to eat, are pellets good and do they grow fast like most cichlids?

I have herd horror stories about these guys are they killers? and i am not planning on any tankmates by the way


The reason i picked a butti is cause they have personality

Hi,

If you want a fish with personality it's one of the best, no question. But best in solitary confinement as big adults are extremely bellicose. Unless you have a truly enormous tank and/or very, very robust tankmates in terms of size and nature.

i would say that tank should be ok! most will eat pellets! but it is always good to feed fish frozen food too! give their diet variety!

Yes, unless it's kept in an overstocked 240 with monster fish, IME.

that thing will love having that tank all to itself, and they are very interactive....mine is almost eating outta my hand....there is a plant that i will stick in the rocks and it will dig it up as fast as it can, and i put it right back and so on....it has to piss it off
