Hello guy's i asked the quistion biggest meanest coolest cichlid for my 240 in another section the other day and came up with i like festae's dovi's and Buttikoferi's the best so i am wondering what you guy's think. I know Jar's are mean sob's will they get along with any of the three cichlids i have mentioned above festae's dovi's or buttikoferi's i would love to be able to stick a Jardini in there with maybe a couple or few festae's and a buttikoferi and maybe even a dovi what is you guy's opion on this subject thanks for you'r time as usuall and it is appreciated. I know this will be a mixed decision because you never no based of the fish it's self ect but just you'r opinion is fine with me no one needs to argue about who would win ect just you'r opinion thanks. And if any one has tried such comboes with or with out succes pleas feel free to share thanks.

Sincerly

butti's can hold there grounds. my friend has 2 with his jardini and i have mine with rtc/silvers/gars/flower horns/gourami/clownknife n he holds his grounds. i say try it as long as he aint to small to get eaten.

thanks for you'r reply do you have any pics of either of those tanks and i am curious to know how big they are and what size tanks they are in but thanks i allways love first hand exsperience answers to my quitions and thanks for you'r time

i think if you get them too yung the jar will be picked on till death. the doviii suonds like a tight fish and they are bigger and stronger than a butti. you should get that instead. :)

i'd get the jar first, let it grow a lil b4 introducing either dovii or butti...when juvies jars arnt that hardy/strong...and a aggressive cichlid would beat it up...jars only get there nasty streak after bout 8 inches...if i were u i'd buy a larger jar then add the other fish...give it a go tho i'd like to see it

I'm trying to raise a GG, RTC, Jard, Butti, and LMB or EBJD. My EBJD is too small right now, will probably keep in a separate tank. The LMB has been bullying the Jar relentlessly. I had to remove him with the hopes of the Jar establishing himself later on. The Butti is small, likes to hide in a cave, comes out during feeding time (GG does not like him at all). I'm planning on upgrading my 75 gal to a 300 gal. Do you guys think this mix will work?

RTC= 7-8"
GG= 5-6"
Jar= 4"
LMB= 4" (in a separate tank for now)
Butti= 3"
EBJD= 2" (separated from the rest)

The RTC is well fed, and there are plenty of hiding places for all the fish (caves and plants). Had them together for more than a month now and the RTC doesn't bother the Jar.

first start a new thread.
second RTC will need a swimming pool all to themselves and the jar will probably all the sudden kill a lot of your fish.
dont reply,start a new thread.
lilMB jars dont hate dovii anymore than they hate butti
