Buttikoferi Biotope

Has anyone been able to add anubius to a Buttikoferi tank with success?

My old used to destroy even plastic plants at 14"... That's why I sold him in the end.

If I were to do one I might consider terrestrial plants cascading over the back of the tank like an overgrown riverbank.

Here is an old tank I set up for Hemichromis fasciatus. They destroyed most of the aquatic plants but the ones that dropped into the water were fine.

lunsforj . What is the aggression level difference between the Buttikoferi and the Fasciatus?

No, they were the punching bags. The buttikoferi tried lip locking with the fasciatus a few times and then wanted nothing of it. I think fasciatus must have a nasty bite/teeth. most cichlids don't like to lip lock with them. they don't even particularly like to do it with each other. in a very large tank where the buttikoferi had a head start growing, they might mix ok but at relatively similar sizes, buttikoferi are no match.
