Buttikoferi food?

Have a large rescue buttikoferi tilapia.. eats massivore but very very little.. even one whole peice it ends up only snacking a bit of it... doesnt take silversides, bloodworms, ocean plankton,tried some fruit and no... worms no.. a multitude of different pellets and still a no go... only other food I can think of is veggies... I cant find much info on these guys other than they are extremely aggressive lol


Anyways this is Zombie... our buttikoferi tilapia.... scary stuff

The Massivore may be too hard for the Buttikoferi to eat.

In rivers in Africa they follow Hippos, and eat their feces. Great recycling machines.
If you really want to get anal, you could go to your local zoo and get a pile.

I've also read they eat aquatic snails in nature. One of the reasons they are so territorial is they come from an area that doesn't have many aquatic snails. This was from an issue of AFM back when Dr. Paul Loiselle was righting their cichlid collum.

Really? That's interesting! I have lots of little snails in my tank lol... guess I'll see if he chows on some
