Guys I'm assuming this is a fungus infection I think my jaguar bit him on the head and it went down hill from there. Been using pimafix for three days now. Says to water change after 7 days of medicating but I don't want him to die. Had him for 4 years now. Pics attached. Any advice is welcome, sooner the better my cat got cancer the same day.

Looking at it if its a wound from another fish. Its more then likely a infection of strep or other bacterial. I'd recommend using API Furan-2. Follow the directions to the Tee. What are your current water parameters?

Of course be sure to do a large water change and I'd also recommend treating the water with some aquarium salt.

Thanks guy but finish the medication then a water change or just do it now? Also I dunno about salt can that work with other tankmates: 2 silver dollars, 1 acei, a pleco, jaguar cichlid, a convict, and a water cow? And if you're assuming bacterial (take a look at fins please) do I just switch meds now or what?

Personally I'd recommend a hospital tank. Separate from the others. If you can. If not first discontinue use of any and all treatments. Remove all carbon or chemical filteration. Then do a large water change. After that dose 1tablespoon of aquarium salt per 10 gallons. Then dose the furan2 per instructions til gone.

I can set up a hospital tank but as of now nothing is set up so that may take some time. I will remove all carbon and do a water change when I'm done work. Anything specific I should put in the canister filters?

No nothing special just leave everything in it that's normal but no carbon or other chemical media

And so not to confuse what i meant by dose the furan2 til its gone. What I meant was til the issue is gone. Could take more then one treatment. You should see improvements in the first week. If not then other measures will need to be taken. But I don't see that being an issue.
