buttikoferi info?

Hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what the minimal tank size for a Tilapia buttikoferi is? And any other care tips that would probaly useful. How many and what size Buttikoferi are you think of getting?

id say at least a 75. they dont grow all that fast when they hit 9" or so.
they LOVE to dig and will make mountains in the center of the tank and anwhere they want to make a cave out of.
mines looking pretty comfy in a 106 right now and im not planning on getting a bigger for him

Yea I was thinking of buying a little one and growing him up. A 75 would will work for me too. Just wondering, how long can I keep one in a 55? Just so I can buy one without it being sold to someone else? A 1/2 a year?

that seems reasonable if you get it smaller set a date that you are going to upgrade it and stick to it

Very cool! Now I just have to convince my parents to let me buy a 75 for just 1 fish...

i would say for one a 75 gallon tank will be suitable. they are incredible fish, very hardy and amazing personalities.

you would have a while before you needed the 75..7..8 months. not something i would immediately worry about unless your starting off with a larger fish

Yea but Im out to college soon and all my fish tanks with maybe the exception of the 55, are being dumped on my dad. So all fish tanks and fish must be approved by him. And hes not diggin' the whole I fish in a tank thing. He likes community tanks over aggro tanks
