buying 180 gallon

Can someone tell me how much does a 180 gallon glass tank cost? My LFS has one for $700 new without top or light. Dimension are 6x2x2. Thankz

probably a bit high.

in my area, an Aqueon 180 gallon is 720 Canadian.

so 700 US is a bit high IMO.

big tanks are always expensive new. but worth it IMO.

chain store is usually cheaper than lfs but used is even better i see them used for a few hundred dollars all the time

IMHO, I think you would be better off buying a used acrylic tank. Lots of great deals out there on used tanks, whether it's glass or acrylic. I've seen 125's/180's with stands going for $500 to $600...and that's with pumps/heater/ect.

Glasscages.com has lots of tanks, including 180 gallon tanks in various dims. Their 180L is $550 but then there are the shipping costs.

thanks for replies, i have enough for used tank, i bought 125g used last year and it just leaked a few days ago. what a messssss

yes just go to a good lfs and ask for some sealeant. theyll have the stuff you need, as long as its not cracked.you just have to epty the tank and lut the stuff dry proprly. i buy my tanks new to avoid that stuff. get a new 180 and post some pics...

GE Silicone I Window & Door or DAP (non Plus Series) will work fine if you choose to reseal it...

I would go used, but make sure to see the tank with water in it. I picked up my 180G for $400, including the stand, lights, and the sump with pump.
