Buying a common wolf fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine just refused to share the bottom of the tank with anyone else. He's bitten a few fish larger than him, but the only thing he's brutally killed was a Red Tail Catfish that had a good 3-4 " on him. I used to keep him with my larger fish (arowana and Odoe pike) but I've since moved him to a tank by himself, and he's actually a bit more personable than he was in the presence of other fish.

They aren't very active swimming around. Lie like a log on the floor except when eating. Very aggressive. Need large tank mates if able to be tolerated. Can get up to 20 inches but less in a home aquarium. Not a picky eater. Standard tank should be at least 2 ft wide and 4ft in length.

Thanks for input! Kinda what I have read. Sometimes food to hear personal experiences. I have a 200 and working on a 300.

They are active, but at night. what i tend to do with my current ones is turn one light off and then angle it so its going from front to back instead of left to right so it hits less of the tank and i watch him swim around a little before going to sleep. if you give it a while he'll probably convert to your schedule. my last one did after about a year though. so patience as always with wolves, and see what works for your specimen

Wouldn't that only have 3 added inches then basically? But the base print is better.
