buying a large red devil- have some questions

I am looking at buying a 12 inch male red devil. How much is he worth? He has a large hump on his head. I do not know what is a good price or a bad one. He would be just a pet since after he breed he at his female and babies. I thought they should of removed them after the eggs were layed. yes? How small of a tank can he stay in till I get a 100 gallon or so? He will be alone in the tank.

Around the Austin area, I've seen larger ones in the 10" range for $40 or so. Just saw a free creamsicle around a foot on craigslist too..

I would say 75 could be a good minimum tank for the guy..
