HI all, this is my first post. I currently have a 46g bowfront with one 4" Albino O in it. I've decided I want a bigger tank, and the wifey gave me hey okay! I've put a few classified ads out there trying to find something 100+ gallons. I'm thinking maybe a 125. Any suggestions on some interesting fish to put with my O in a 125? I may not even keep the O.

I really want a tank that house guests will look at and think I am insane....Ya know what I mean??

You could have 2 12inch O's and a catfish in the 125.

You could have a green terror and you O in the 100

what do you think??
P.S where are you?(UK,USA)

The problem is what you might think is a large tank some of the people on hear would use it as a filter I thought I had some odd fish and had some quite large tanks just have a look at what some of the MFK members have. The sort of Gallons you are looking at is a 5x2x2 about 150 Gal a reasonable size tank that could hold some nice fish but fish are like art/music we all have our own taste my preference normally edges towards teeth or large cichlids but if my father had his way it would be Discus or tetras he would have a all planted tank i would not etc etc you need to look and see what you like also the best advice i can give is fit the biggest tank you can>>

I"m in the US. I think i want something a lil more unique than the O's. ... I might even bring the one I have now to my lfs...

Yeah i'm all for teeth! I want some mean mothas...I understand a 125 isn't a monster tank for many people on here, but it is for me and my modest income ;)

in a 150 you could keep a jardini arowana for the best part of his life, but you will soon have to sell him or get a bigger tank. just my 2 cents lol :D:)

5x2x2 malawi would look good and get the "O" you might want can make it look like a marine set up pic 1 doo a search for Malawi tanks images the 2nd pic is of of a Acestrorhynchus falcirostris or Freshwater baracuda A large aquarium with massive filtration is a must, minimum tank size should be 5x2x2' (150 gallon). The fish is unfussy of water parameters providing extremes of hardness and pH are avoided, temperatures from 24 to28 celcius are tolerated (75-82f). It is advised to heavily plant the sides of the tank to prevent the fish from smashing its self against the glass. The fish is a predator and should only be kept with equal sized and larger fish. Maximum size: 40 cm / 16 inches there you have teeth just an idea you
could then add some intresting cats like a lima etc etc you then have the bug :headbang2

if your going to go for a 6' 125 i would recommend a 6x2x2 180 instead as it gives you a lot more scope to get bigger fish or even a bigger rage of fish.
its a common size tank too so a god used deal should be out there for you to find.

PIRANAH....they say 20 gallons per fish, so get like 8 of them, cause a couple will probly get eaten by their borthers, if you want to show off to your friends get black p's, they are more aggressive and will sometimes even try to bite your finger throgh the glass, reds usually hide in weeds, and are sometimes even too shy to eat in front of you. grats on the tank, 120 is a big one to me, ive only had 55s till now too.

later
