Im def gonna get at least a 240. But im debating on what "form factor" i want. Long tall wide ??? im thinking that i want a tall to help distiguish the "levels" of the fish. top bottom middle swimmers. but then i wont have as much width so i have to keep the longer fish out. im also gonna build it with a spot underneath to put my 30 gallon as a display/sump but for plants (no fish in this one but connected) then 2 more sumps full of k1 and filter media.

anyways. any ideas on the tank size? im thinking i should go with the same height as my 30 gallon just for asthetic purposes.

i was also thinking that if i get the wide i can hide all the filters and stuff behind the back ground..

about 75 inches in length is all the space i have btw.. so thats what im working with.

edit: 72 x 30 x 25 Tall ...thats whats sticking out to me at the moment

for 6 foot tanks, I prefer 30 tall.

the reason is that it looks much more pleasing to the eye. 6 footers that are only 24 or 25 tall look way too enlongated (shallow) to me.

the 6 foot length combined with the bit of extra height looks AMAZING, especially when you sit down in front of it.

my 150g is like this, but it is 18 wide.

so, if I were you, I would probably end up getting a standard 220g tank, 72 x 24 x 30 tall.
