Has anyone here ever bought a huge tank 180 gals. or more through Ebay? If so... how was the experience, who was the seller/manufacturer, quality, shipping issues, and did you recieve it with great sastisfactory?? Please share your experiences.

shipping on a tank that large would probably cost so much as to make the purchase not even worth it. if you can find a seller in your area where you can pickup though then you should be able to find a great deal. the best thing to do is ask to see the tank full of water so you can be sure there are no leaks. :)

I bought a metal lathe off ebay about 6 mnts ago , it was over 400 lbs and it had to be shipped in 2 boxes. total cost for shipping was $ 79.00 . So I would go ahead , just look at the feedback of the person and try to go with paypal. That way you'll get your money back if there is a problem most of the time. Silas

it's not just the weight of the tank but also the overall size. larger tanks like a 180 can often run over $200 just to be shipped, and that's assuming you can find a carrier that will ship it. :)

like jason said if you can find someone in the area or close enough to drive you can get a heck of a deal
also check craigslist.com
there are some good deals on there from time to time
i just got a 55gal plus stand 2 heaters and 3 filters for 60 bucks off of craigslist

The reason it was so cheap is as jason-s said the size but also you would need to insure the glass and not all carriers can insure glass, so the best way find a place near you with the tank you like, e-mail the dude/ dudess and as them if you can view it as the auction is still running also have them fill it with water for your arrivel. hope this helps.
