wrong forum, you should be posting this in the buy and sell forum. and i'm thinking that you're looking for needle nose gars and not true gars. correct me if i'm wrong.

wow wouldn't that be nice if we could buy a breeding pair for only $40?!?! Good luck with that one.....

and if you are talking about needlefish, then I would go to an LFS near ou and you will probalby find some there, buy them all and cross your fingers. It has happened before, but is unlikely they will breed.

your location says longbeach wich is in california, where gars are illegal.

but in legal states gars run around 35-50 bucks depending on size and species.

also you will never find a "true" gar pair that breeds anywhere for that price or anywhere near it.
Or just find a breeding pair for that matter.

In fact there is no such thing as a "breeding pair" of Lepisosteids. Gars are communal spawners and show no pair bonding at all. typically several males per female is desirable in pond culture of them.
