Last week i Fished for some catfish and keep pulling up yellow heads. They look so cool. So where can i buy them? I asked my LFS and he said some thing about Jonnas fish but never heard of it.

Why buy them when you can get them for free? Catch a small one and put it in a tank. I like using a minnow trap to catch fry.

Cuz i was Catching them up in AZ and live in SoCal. Id have to Drive 6hrs just to get a few fish and drive back with some Real Cretive live well setup in my car with air pumps like mad... heh i need a site. minnow trap.... Hmm Will all day work? cuz other ppl fish the same dock so i cant realy tie something up and leave it over night.

I bought a Acara cat that was about 7inches one time when I was about 4hrs from home and I still had to stop at a friends house on the way and drop him off all together he was in the bag for about 6hrs but I just had the guy at the petstore put him in a huge bag like the kind the get there feeders in and a ton of water I checked on him a few times and he was fine all the way home. If you got a descent sized rubbermaid tub and just made sure you freshened the water(dumped out old and filled with new from same spot your cathing your fish) then he or they,as long as your not trying to take to many, should make the ride just fine. If your still iffy on that idea put one of those battery operated airstones in the tub to. Good luck, Man I wish I could go fishing but its already to cold here.Oh well theres always next year.

I might have to do that. With some stink bite next time.. but that allmost 60 dollors in gass to go to Colorado river just for some catfish... :x plus about 8hr drive all around.. one full day of fishing... I maybe can set up a housing for them in my place for them to stay tell ride home... this way if the fishing is bad one day i can make it up the next. So no one realy knows a site?

Where in socal are you? All you have to do is put a worm on a barbless hook in any lake in socal in the warmer months and you should have no problem pulling in a bullhead catfish. I bring them in all day long unintentionally while fishing for trout in Big Bear Lake. You can also catch them in hemit lake, perris lake, silverwood lake. Catfish can live much longer than other sportfish out of water. I caught a 9lb channel cat at silverwood and it was still alive and well when I got home an hour later, out of water. I have also had small bullhead (4-6") from Big Bear out of water for about half an hour and they did fine in my tank when I got home. If you want to keep them in water just bring an average size ice chest with you and put lake water in it. I have seen a catfish live in unfiltered stagnant water for a week.
