Hey,
I know it's hard to say something about what a juvenile flowerhorn might become and about the quality of the fish.
But let's try alright?
This is a recent clip of fh at a store I do like to order fish at (only good experience till now):
They are 16 Euros each so not expensive at all.

Some of them look like the classic cheap flowerhorn with a dominant appearance of an Amphilophus trimaculatus.
But some are showing quite interesting pattern, deep red eyes and a good red coloration.

After my flowerhorn died more than a year ago (cause unknown might have been internal or nerve damage, it basically went from totally fine to dead within 30minutes) there is something missing.
With my Dats in the big 6,5ft tank I've got fish with personality but people who keep flowerhorn know what I am talking about.
They are just like puppies and I really miss mine.
(I added a picture of it as a juvenile in its 80gal)

I think keeping fh is like keeping Amphilophus so if they are used to live with other fish since the beginning they shouldn't get too aggressive while growing up.
So IF I'd decide to get a flowerhorn again I#d at least try to growing it out in a community with some Megalechis thoracata, Hyphessobrycon anisitsi and smaller CA cichlids to keep it in a 120gal with KKP.
If it won't work out it doesn't really matter since I've got 9 tanks and I am able to add another 3,3 to 4ft tank.

Please let me know your thoughts on this.
