My LFS is clearing out 72 gallon bowfront Oceanic tanks.

Only problem is that there new but the manfacturer date are from 2003-2005.

I notice the newer ones have air bubbles in the black silicone. The older tanks don't have as much. Is this a cosmetic flaw or something worse?

So should I get the newest tank or one with the least air bubbles, even if it's older.

The bubbles are voids in the silicone and they will expand when the tank is filled. It wouldnt bother me, I would just get the tank with the best looking glass.

Buying bow front tanks is always scary. I have a bow front tank before and the most important part is that the center brace must be near perfect condition. The front pane of glass move inward when the tank is drained. I am not sure if bubbles is comestic flaw or not but I know Oceanic is a great brand.
