Hello i have one 2 year old red belly and im upgrading my tank to a 50 gallon tank and i was wondering if i could put 2-3 more baby red bellys in with my old one. or should i buy 2-3 red bellys that are around the same size?

i'd imagine that your 2 yr old natt is at least 7-8 inches so by putting baby natts in there with it, they would become a quick snack. what are the dimensions of your tank?

i agree with joe about them being a quick snack for the 2yr olds

The tank he is in right now is 29.5 inches long, 12.5 inches wide and 16 inches high

I wouldnt add anymore fish to that tank.... That doesnt even sound like 50 gallons? You need to get something bigger---- a 75g would be just about right for 3-4 reds-

The tank he is in rite now is only about 30 g but im getting a new 50g tank

you could do 3 tops in that tank IMO and yes u'll need to buy same size not babies also it's best to add all the fish to the new tank at once so they don't have time to lay claim to any territory and its new to all of them

also whats the LxWxH of the 50 i know a 55 is something like 4'x12"x24"

get a 75 instead of the 50 you plan on... not much more$$$ but way better foot print for piranha's. and get one possibly 2 more at about the same size. i know dragon aquarium in mississauga has a few larger reds.

dude the bigger P will eat your baby p's if you mix them, try to get another tank
