Hi everyone.

I want to connect a wet dry filter to my aquarium but instead of building one I was wondering if I could buy one.

Does anyone know if/where I could buy one?
Or does everyone just make their own?

Hi,

There are many many retail wet/dry filters of various sizes, shapes, etc.

Eshopps, aqueon are two names off the top but there are many more. Google is your friend here. Or go to marine depot.com or similar and search the filter options.

I use my aqualine wet/dry. On my 220 gallon its working perfect for me! U can see them at plastechsystem.com

Do you think it is worth getting a wet dry filter for a 90 gallon?
At the moment I have a FX5 and a AquaOne 1250 canister filter running but my nitrates are around 25-30ppm all of the time.*
Would a wet dry help this or are the 2 canisters sufficient for a 90 gallon?*

I would say before you add more filtration, check to see if the nitrates are in your tap water, you could add low light plants if its possible with your stock.what is your WC schedule, what is the tank stocked with?

i change about 60% per week. i think its slightly over stocked; oscar, severam, sailfin pleco, 2 silver dollars, synodontis catfish.

would plants help lower nitrates?

Plants would help, but I think your stock of fish would rip them up/eat them.I would try to add a HOB filter and put house plant (pothos) or another kind,do a search on MFK for nitrates,I hear this works well,I tried it but I don't test my water, the plants are thriving

yeah you were right. i bought some plants yesterday and when i got up this morning only 1 had survived.
i dont think a HOB filter with a house plant would look right in my lounge. if it was in another room i would try that though.
are wet dry filters noisey with the water trickling through all of the time?
