I went to the lfs today for some ghost shrimp and what do I see? A 12(?) male Dovii looking perfect and beautiful. It's fins and tail were a nice blue color and his markings looked nicely arranged. Needless to say I wanted him badly. I told the guy I wanted to trade a few cichlids in and get him.

I may regret this later but here's what I'm doing. I'm trading my 6-7" Carpintis, 7" Argentea, 6" female Lyonsi and 4 large Redhook Silver Dollars for it. The Dovii will take their 156 gallon tank for now.

Don't try to talk me out of it because as soon as I hit Submit, I'm out the door. The fish are already packed. Later gators!

You're getting the short end of the deal bro. You are giving them MORE in fish than what the dovii is worth. They should be ashamed stealing your fish from you like that.
 
Trading in an argentea would cuase me pause, a lyonsi would be actually painfull ... but it of course always comes down to what you want ... blue dovii are deffinately pretty fish.
 
Wow...some pretty awesome fish you're trading in for that one. I guess if it floats your boat that good, then go for it :thumbsup:
 
The argentea and lyonsi alone are worth more than that fish...but if the dovii is what you want then go for it - this hobby is about our pleasure. Just don't make deals like this all the time or you'll go broke ;)
 
I wish i knew you wanted one. I'm giving away a 6"er, wild caught from Rapps. It would have just cost you shipping.

That was generous of you..... but I'm sure the trade in was also a way to free up tank space. That's a tough pill to swallow.... that's a steep trade! How did the negotiating go.......

Ok i feel kinda inexperienced about this but i keep seeing people getting fish off this lfs place and i have no idea what it stands for or how to check it out
