in another thread, a member said (sorry i can't remember who) that velvia 50 is going to be discontinued. Not believing everything popular photography says (i read trade magazines more than PopPhoto)...

quote :

Dear Lisa:

Thank you for contacting Fujifilm, USA's Contact Center. Please allow us to assist you.

Velvia 50 is being discontinued due to a marketing decision. We anticipate Velvia 50 to be available for the balance of 2005. Fujichrome Velvia 100 is the successor to Velvia 50 and will be available June 2005. Velvia 100 is built on the same platform as Velvia 50 and offers more saturation then Velvia 100F.

We sincerely hope this information has been beneficial to you. If you should have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. It would be our pleasure to assist you.

Thank you for your interest in Fujifilm products and services.

LOL, It was Benny :) and he and I read the same article that said that. It actually talked about the new 100 paper also I think.

but what I find interesting is that they already have a velvia 100F. Now they're making a new emulsion based on the original velvia? uhh, i thought they already did that...

NNNOOOOOOOO! I'm holding my breath until they change thier minds!

Man, I love that film. It was just about the only film I used for outside shooting. I hope what the say about the 100 is true.

:(
