First post here. Hello everybody.

Im going to turn my 200gal into a central american rocky lake biotope. It will have alot of gravel along with many rocks of all different sizes and very few plants or wood . The main fish in the tank will be my 10-11 inch barred midas male. From what I have researched most of the midas and red devils come from this type of eco system. Where I need help is finding another fish that also shares this enviroment. Most of the other C/A fish come from rivers, swamps or the shallows of the lake. Does anybody know of a fish that is commonly found, that lives in the lakes of central america. Thanks for any help.

pics are always cool so heres a pic of my midas and a full tank shot in its current state.

I think dempseys and carpintis are found in lake environments

Thanks . I thought of dempseys. but from what read they stay in the shallow muddy waters and sometimes migrate to the rivers and streams. If I cant find anythign else I might go with them.

Any other ideas? It could also be a smaller schooling fish if anybody knows of any. Most of what I found comes from the rivers.

Thank You, I have enjoyed the tank very much over the past 3 years. but I would now like to change it up a little. Most of the substrate and wood will be going into my 112 gallon set up as a amazon biotope featuring my 10" rhom.
