C. Frenata Pics

As of right now they are about 6" - 7" and in a 20 gal. They normally reside in a 75 but, I just moved to NC from Florida and still unpacking a ton of stuff and the 20 was fast and easy to set up and I figured they would be ok in it for a couple weeks. Anyhow here are the pics

very nice. gotta get that 75 set up soon. they should be fine for a short time in the 20 gal. not ideal but it will work. hopefully u can get a spawn out of them

Nice looking pikes, im new to MFK and im a new owner of a pike cichlid and i believe it is a c. frenata. I was wonder how do you tell the male from the female?

the females lines are brighter on the face and they have a bright white line on her dorsal and their fins will have a bluish tint to them.

I just got another pike and from your description i beleive it is female, the belly is also bright red.
