Hello. I have 4 kraussii 2.75"-4.25" that I plan on breeding, as long as 2 pair up. Has anyone bred these or at least kept them. Ive been told males get 9", someone else said 14".
I plan on using a 75g for breeding, probably with a divider.
Any info would be very helpful.

These cichlids must be pretty rare.
Ive had probably 50 different NW cichlids and these are becoming one of my favorite- you guys with big tanks should try them out.

Hey!!! Welcome to MFK!! Glad to see yaz! Caquetaia are GREAT fish! Absolutely LOVE them!! I used to have Caquetaia spectabile and Caquetaia myersi....both of which are spectacular cichlids. The larger they get though, the more aggressive towards each other they become, so just be aware of that. I wasn't able to find any kraussi at the time, but they do become available during certain times of the year. Great great fun they are! Some of the most aggressive feeders, hit them pellets with a POP!! If you can, I'd grab a few more of them, it will help increase your chances of a pair, AND help lower the inevitable aggression that is soon to come. OY!

Check out www.tangledupincichlids.com aka Jeff Rapps. He has some Caquetaia myersi right now....wild caught...great size...for $125 a pop. Not to shabby if you ask me! ;)
