Okay guys, this is basically a noob question. I just want to make sure cause i don't want to wake up to a half eaten S.Arowana in the morning. :D

Well, my C.Micro is now 17cm and im moving him to a new 75g this week. Im planning to get him a S.Arowana for a tank mate and probably a couple of Oscars if i get lucky.
So the questions are:

1. Will my C.Micro eat or atleast kill the S.Aro even if they are the same size?
2. How big does the S.Aro have to be so that my C.Micro wont try to gobble him up?
3. Is a 75g Enough to house these fellas?
4. How about the oscars? Do i need to worry about them getting eaten?

My apologies for the ton of questions. I just dont know much about the C.Micro's compatibility with other fish (if there is such thing LOL).
I need to hear some advice from the more experienced MFKers out there. :D

If ya don't have the proper tank size nothing else matters. Pertaining to your 3rd question, the answer is no. A 75 gallon will only house a juvenile silver arowana for a very short time.

Silver arowana grow on average 1-1.5" per month with even spurts of up to 3" per month being common. They grow in length rapidly to the 24-25" mark beyond that growth is more apparent in their bulk added. The largest you could possibly go with a aro in a 75g(assuming standard 4' tank) would be about 16" at best. So even if you were to start with a small aro(hope the snakehead don't eat it) you will have to move to a larger tank with in just a few months.

I would recommend starting with a 180g 6x2x2' tank to start and then in a couple years upgrade once the silver has outgrown the 180g.

Thank you. Yeah i guess a 100g++ would be better for them.
So just as long as the Aro is slightly bigger.. she wont be eaten?

I have tried that combo, use the search engine under my name
the aro and micro were doing good until the micro reached 16"..
the micro pick on the aro all the time!! at last..the aro died of streess
tank size..i will say you need "at least" 240g for the micro...
and suggest "NO" tankmate with any micro...unless the tankmate is like double the size.....good luck

Whoaaaaaa! Stop right there!

A 75 gallon tank isn't enough to house even 1 of the fish you are talking about!
Your micropeltes is already almost 20cm. Give it a month or 2 and it has already outgrown the tank!

You realise how big these get right?
as does an arowana?

Think carefully what your next step is going to be.

Hes still a bit small 17cm yeah. but the biggest tanks that are available here in the Ph are barely enough.. im hoping to get a 120 for these guys.. i dont think i have enough space to house two separate huge tanks. :(

now you guys got me thinking of just sticking with my micro.:)

Sticking with just the micro would be a wise choice.

Not really, he has no tank to house it.

I wish people would step up to the responsibility of owning giant fish.
