I see that alot of other MFK'ers have C. Ornatus and I too have a couple in different tanks at the moment. My question is just how aggressive can I expect this fish to get? I have to admit when I bought them I had no idea how aggressive or passive they would end up being as adults. I currently have 1 in a 125 gallon with mostly Geo's and all is going well but he's still small at about 4-5 inches. The other male (I'm assuming) is in a 120 show tank with P menarambo. I bought them from Rapps as what I thought were a pair but since then have realized that both are males. Just how aggressive are these fish?

They get aggressive. I'm probably the only person who is keeping one with snakeheads and they can make a 12" chevron snakehead back down. One of the top 10 aggressive snakehead out there. Even my 15" jaguar lost to my ornatum and my 9" umbee doesn't mess around with him. But umbee is still young so that's too early to call it. Still as far as aggression goes, yes they can handle most challengers.

This cichlid got brown noticeable teeth.

Ummm, I guess I'd better think about moving them into another tank then. So far mine aren't being aggressive at all but maybe thats because they are in a tank with Geo's.

The more cichlids you have in the tank the better as the aggression spreads will lessen the main target bullying. With less cichlids or just those two ornatum, then their will be be casualty in the future. One will for sure get beaten or push to the corner or get stress most of the time.

Hopefully raising mine from babies with tankmates will make them more tame as adults.

Yes that is what I'm doing right now as I only have one nor planning to breed them. So it's best to keep mine in a comm tank.

Mines doesn't get along with my Escondido, I don't know why, but he goes after the Econdido, when ever he comes in his eye sight...

The brown teeth are actually perfect contrast with its turquoise lips. When they get to 10" they show their true base color.
