Debating on buying a couple of Jeff Rapps pinima, I wondered if this photo was an accurate to what they look like? thanks.

This does look like one. I have never seen mine that dark but occasionally they have this darker tint to them. In adult hood they will loose the Spot's and develope there long stripe's and they will be cream in color.

looks like one, but you can find many pinima photos on this site...you won't be disappointed with the pickups thats for sure!!!!

Thanks, I was just making sure that this was one, I really like the color of this fish! I think I will definitely get a couple!

looks like one to me, i love the speckles on pinima!

TTG,
See how the three vertical bars show a small black ocellated spot at the top of them, just under the dorsal fin? That is a trademark of C. pinima (depending on location of course, but typically indicative of C. pinima). I would say that the photos depicts a C. pinima, probably from a blackwater ecosystem...hence the dark rust-color of the fish. Just my experience and opinion.
Rapps' pinima are outstanding...I have seen them first hand. I would grab as many as you can afford, since Brazil is getting more and more difficult to get all types of Cichla from legally.
Hope that helps,

wow-thanks for the response, they're truly beautiful fish and I'm going to get at least two, I just bought a house so funds are kind of tight right now but I've gotta get my hands on some for now!
