I'm getting a 125 relatively soon and i have these fish that are definately going in there

1 Female Dempsey
1 RDxLyonsi
2 BPxTexas
1 Male Convict
1 Male? Firemouth
1 Common Pleco
1 Ropefish
1 BGK
1 Port Cichlid

These guys are going in the tank automatically, would i already be overstocked with them or not? I was thinking of adding:

2 Needlefish
1 female convict
1 female firemouth (assuming mine is male)

And One Decent sized large CA cichlid.

I was thinking:

Hyposporus Nicaraguenese
Herycthys Cyano.
Paratheraps Bifasciatum
or any of the calmer Vieja species
Would any of these work?

Overstocking is usually the way to go, it keeps down agression.
Just think though, for every 12" of CA cichlid, you need 50 gallons of water.
Just use that as a guide.

adding that female convict with the already placed male will cause hell to a lot of those fish in a tank that size

BUMP if you wanna see some pics.

Yeah, I think adding females is a bad idea. I'd stick with the original list, but thats just me. :D

If you must add a bigger fish, go with the Nicaraguense, as they are pretty mellow, and some of the fish in that tank are small. Another option would be pearsei

This would be the only one that will definately get 12". I have a RDxLyonsi that may get that big.

She's already in there now. Both of hte convicts are under 1.5" and all the other cichlids other than the Port are under 3.5". THe female con was in there before and they bred and the babies hatched and then got eaten. I took her out after that because my sister wanted her as a wet pet.

So, no to the female firemouth?
I think you're probably right.

I may do a Nic., but i don't really like the color of pearsei.

What about a Synspilum? They're supposed to be fairly mellow.
