CA cichlid tanks & collection (load)

Thought i would put an update of both tanks to show how they are progressing. Just to recap, both tanks are fitted with a Back to Nature background, where all filter heaters etc are hidden.

Tank 1 has been setup 4 years, while tank 2 is only 1 month old. Tank 1 is due for more stock in the coming months.

How do you make your backgrounds? what do you use for the base and do you paint then cover with fiberglass resin?
