Okay so im getting an 8x4 for my cichlids that currently consist of:
Midas, Festae, Jack Dempsey, Texas and Oscars.
I am going to add over large Cichlids i am looking for a male Jaguar.

What i would like to know, is could i keep Motoro stingrays, or any other stingrays with these fish?
All my fish are currently around 5".

I have noticed that the Cichlids leave my other non-Cichlid fish alone, like my Fire Eel who is around 7", he does very well and my Clarius Catfish, they seem to leave my bottom dwellers alone.

i don't think it is worth the risk.. Some cichlids are ok. Some are not. They may go for the rays eyes...that would be my concern..

I would not risk a $100 dollar ray for a 10 dollar cichlid...JMO

Well i can get rays reletively cheaply at 35 british pounds per motoro.
I just hoped with such a large area it would be ok.
I would probably remove individuals who had problems with the rays and set them up with a female of there species.

Wouldn't risk it. You'll find a motoro missing an eye and another dead in the morning.

With an 8x4 tank, you might get lucky. I have a midas, jaguar, and snook in with my rays. The cichlids don't even pay attention to the rays. All depends on the fish. But like most have said, its not really recommended. I think with a large non overstocked tank, helps the situation.

Well i had to get rid of my Festae after he tried to kill my male Jaguar,
and i have a new Frontosa 7" who is great looking.
They dont even bully him, so i might try it with another tank setup running just incase.;)
