CA/SA cichlid stocking ideas

Hi all
I have a 5 feet tank with dimesnions 60'' x 18'' x 18''...id like to own a single wet pet or a pair for breeding purpose just for fun as i wont be taking out any fry etc...id like to have a fish or a pair which maxes out at 12 to 14'' as the width of my tank is only 18'' and there are no chances of upgrade in near future..i am open to all types of suggestions/ideas...Thanks in advance
 
With a 60" x 18" blueprint you'll have plenty of options. In the past I have kept a Green Terror, Festae (female), Texas and a few Red Devils solo. They all had great personalities and were owner responsive, with the exception the Festae who was very skittish. If I had the opportunity to do it again I think I would go with a good quality carpintis.
 
i agree trimac or any amphilophus would be great in there.more choices:a pair of freddies or RTM,cubans,many of the paratheraps/vieja

Pair: Lyonsi Pair
or
A Pair of Vieja Synspila (that might be a tight fit, I don't own any but would like to, someone else may chime in)

Just for Fun: 8x Rainbow Cichlids, a Pair of Blue Acara and a small collection of target fish or tiny dithers.
