CA/SA cichlid suggestion

Hey guys I currently have 110 setup with 1 vieja synspila, 1 blood parrot, 5 clown loaches, 1 syno. Ornatipinnus... In 3 months i am upgrading to a 180 and would like to add either 1 or 2 juvenile cichlids but I'm not sure what to get...last week I bought a 2"'carpintis that was nice but was killed by my ornate syno who now has his own tank... So instead of just goin back to the Lfs and chOosing something i figured I'd ask for advice on here... Should I go with other vieja, maybe some type of parachromis or Texas variant? Should I order from rapps and get something f1 or specialized race? Any advice is appreciated, thanks... Here's a couple pics of my synspila

Btw there is no flash in the pics it's my bedroom ceiling light, the aquarium light is only
12 inches and can't be used for pics

Nice Synspilum! I wouldn't go with another Vieja seeing as conspecific's can get especially aggressive. Since Synspila are supposed to be peaceful comparitively to other Vieja's you should choose something else with a similar temperament. Maybe something like an Ellioti, Hypselecara coryphaenoides or
temporalis(Chocolate Cichlids) or a Sajica or maybe a Amphilophus Lyonsi. At least that's the way I'd probably go.

nicaraguans aren't bad in a community setting. peaceful, but can hold their own. large enough to run with the big dogs, but still a passive species.

One or two sevs would fit in nicely when you upgrade to the 180.
