CA/SA Cichlids in a 10 or 20 Gallon Aquarium?

not sure some of the guys been telling me there are some nice dwarf cichlids u can try maybe. they suggested rainbow cichlid and i think a kribensis although thats not a south american one.

you could probably get away with one female con, possibly 2, in a 20 long as it provides the extra swimming length which cichlids require. that extra 6" swimming length makes all the difference IMO.
in a 20 high i would stick with dwarf cichlids like rams and the like. you could do a nice planted dwarf cichlid tank.

There are tons of CA cichlids that you could look at for a 20g. I personally have kept pairs in 20g of many of the cryptoheros species with no issues and the fish have plenty of room.

Look at
multispinosa
Cutteri
Sajica
Spilurus
Septemfaciatus
Centrarchus
Nematopus

I think you could probably do a pair of any of these fish. They would have to be the only 2 fish in the tank though

Ratio wise it's as good as oscars in a 75g:nilly:
