how much lighting is too much? i just backed out on a deal for a 3x54watt t5 lighting system. i was a steal too for the price. £50-$100. the only reason i backed out because i thought it would be too much for the cichlids, is this correct? i want to grow easy, hardy plants like ferns, amazon sword etc. so was it a good decision or bad?
thanks in advance dave

Too much is when the water boils.. Or your fish look like crap because the light washed out the color... Personal preference... In my opinion you may have just robbed yourself of an excellent experience.

I do different lighting here and there just for the different hues that I get ...

At least if you would have stayed in the deal you could still sell the lights... Now you will never know LOL ;)

I use 4x54W T5 on a 28" high tank, also got it at a steal for $130.

Can't say that any Cichlids hate it, though it's not really necessary.
so i messed up then :swear::swear::swear::swear:, i checked the other autions before that and they were going for $60 more atleast:(,
ile get searching again,
thanks all
