Cage design

I saw on another forum that someone made a sav. cage from 1/2" PVC.... good or bad idea? 8'x4'x3'

Well the size of the cage wouldn't hurt. My savannah cage is built out of wood, I didn't know that sheets of plastic where available.

its pvc pipe frame with plexi. panels..... seems a little flimsy.......

probably end up doin wood need plans though

Plexi is really easy to scratch. I bet a savanna would at least ruin the appearance of the cage if not actually wreck it pretty quickly.

I have plexi glass on my Sav cage and he climbs up on it all the time, not overly sratched like people describe...

if the plexi is anchored well that is a pretty sturdy frame.

Wonder how they do it? Slots in the pvc and fit the plex in it? Could work I suppose...I did the old plywood deal, cheaper.

i had a pvc pipe enclosure i made for my big iguana. it works pretty well and it was pretty sturdy. i used it for years. wasnt the best looking enclosure around but it worked. ill have to try and dig up some pics.

screwed plexi in and each sheet is $30 so it would cost to much

any one got any plans for a good ply wood cage?

Plexi gives in to force, unlike ridged glass. It could be beneficial to use something that does that when you have a 100 pounds reptile slapping his tail against the walls.
