Could I not just build my frame with 2x4s and water treat them, then cover it with melamine sheets? It would be more solid and then you could stack them without worrying about the weight.

As for stacking, I always put strong legs on them but had the legs come up 6" or so short at the top, so the next cage's legs stacked right on the legs on the bottom one. Picture bunk beds, and then I had space between for basking lights etc without having to dick around making shrouds or whatever to get lighting in...but if you're not keeping dedicated baskers you can skip that.
well I just got done building the frame with 2x4s.Its looking awesome, going to home depot again now to see what to treat it with.Later I will have the panels made.I will post pics soon of the start.IDK what the hell Im doin with the front but Im really wanting sliding glass doors. How hard could it be to install 2 rails and,oh wait, they need to be one in front of the other, dangit dude, now you got me wondering.lolLouie;3506705; said:--------------------
Is the front of your enclosure glass , acrylic, etc ?.
I thought about making something while back but the front of cage for me was the problem . Wanted full glass or acrylic.
