Hey folks. Fortunately my new Caiman Lizard is eating well, which brings me to my next question...what sort of calcium vitamin regime should I be using? I'm used to snakes, crocodilians and monitors that don't require much extra. Does the natural diet of mollusk alter their calcium needs compared with "normal" lizards?

Thanks guys

hm.... Thats really a good question... I would still dust with calcium a couple time a week to be on the safe side
although being that they are crushing and eating the shells as well (right?) thats quite a bit of calcium right there...
thats a good research project...

The ones I have had experience with got all of their nutrients from the exoskeletons of the foods we gave them (crayfish was their favorite along with mazuri snail diet). I have not read anywhere that they need supplements either. I would skip adding the calcium powder.
