Well as some of you asked, here is an update on my caiman, Sarcosuchus(new name). Just for some background, he lives in a 65 gallon tank with an Ehiem filter. The water is heated too 80f and he has a mercury vapor light a long with a cfl for added lighting. I redid his cage and made him a long dock to sit on at night. Since these crocodilians spend more time on land, it was only suiting. I added duck weed for added security and lowered the water level. He eats pinky rats, cut up shrimp, scallops and tilapia. I found a frog outside and he also ate that. Once the grass hoppers get large, he will have that in his diet too. He has grown 3/4 of an inch so far and is noticeably bulkier. Most importantly, he started biting. lol. At first he didn't but now he loves to sink his teeth into my hand.
