Hey everyone, I made a post in the pond section about this, I have noticed white stuff that is now almost all over my pond liner. The guys think its calcium deposits which makes sense (I have city water). So what my main concern is, is this something that I should look into remedying? Like getting a filter that removes calcium-but is calcium a mineral that fish need?
Just concerned for my rays :)
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks in advance!
John

You will always get some as only pure water evaporates, this is just mineral deposit. Ut the harder the water, the more you get.

Vinegar would help get rid of it but be careful as it would reduce the ph if you got much innthe water.

I did a water hardness test today and the results were:
GH about 179
KH about 38.8

Is this acceptable for my rays? Had them in there for a little over a year now in these conditions, but would like to look into a r/o unit..
Let me know what you think,
Thanks!
John
